I have two cats, Brody (above) name after Adrien Brody and Tiggy, who is just named Tiggy…. don’t know why!!
I’m not too fond of Tiggy, she’s a little old and likes to meow a lot and annoy me, but she is still adorable and cuddly and has rather large paws. Brody on the other hand is like my little baby, cuddliest, softest, nicest cat in the world. He is rather awesome!! I’d never be one of those celebrities who carried a disgusting little dog around in my bag, no i’d carry my cat, and he’d love it!

cI’m slowly trying to turn myself green and do my bit for the environment and found so many websites that have been great. You too can do your bit for the environment and help tackle climate change, after all a small change can lead to a bigger chain of events, we all need to work together if it is to be beaten!!

  • BUILD A WILDLIFE GARDEN - Sounds cliché but it can be an essential tool. Attracting wildlife to your garden can have long term affects. Start a compost heap so you’re not wasting so much food and rubbish. Use bottles and jars and other things you think are waste as pots and feeders. Start a wood pile with your old hedge trimmings, dead wood and branches so you’re not skipping so much garden waste. Grow your own fruit, veg and herbs and become self sufficient so you don’t waste so much money on these foods. Great in the recession. If you’re feeling brave you can even have a few chickens and collect the eggs. If you’re feeling super brave, a cow for the milk…. think how much money you’d save and how little rubbish you’d throw away. For more ideas check out these sites:

  • RECYCLE - You’ve heard before a hundred times, but it is the easiest way to turn green. If every person in Britain recycled, just some of their waste, the implications on the environment would be huge, and for the better. Install different boxes or bins in your kitchen for recyclable material such as cans, tins, glass, food, paper etc. You’ll find that once they are there you will use them!! It’s just a case of getting into the habit. If you have a compost heap see if your waste can be thrown on there and put to good use in the garden. Beats being thrown in a dump to rot! And you won’t have to spend money on compost!!
For more information on things such as elctronic waste, batteries and clothing visit:

  • Buy Local - Sounds simple, but you’ll be surprised how many local supermarkets don’t supply local farmers produce. I know it’s hard, but where you can source local produce. Visit markets instead of supermarkets and look out for local farmers markets. If you have to shop in supermarkets look for things that are produced in Britain, be careful with Tesco though, their labels are very decieving and British meat is usually from Australia or something like that! Also, only buy what you need. Will you really get through three whole chickens before the use by date? Probably not, so don’t waste the money, don’t waste the food and don’t waste the packaging. It’s just ridiculous! For clothing you could try buying from charity shops. They don’t have the image they used to and can be very fashionable, it’s all a case of looking in the right place at the right time. For more information try these sites

  • Give To Charity - If you have old clothes or items, don’t throw them away to rot on a landfill site. Give them to charity to be put to a good cause. Or even better, visit a car boot sale and sell them on. There are plenty of places hosting car boot sales for you to visit and pawn off your goods. There is also ebay or amazon. Or if you’re feeling generous, give to a friend who wants them in the form of a
If you’re feeling creative, turn old clothes into new clothes! Just don’t give them away for goodness sake, it is a waste!

  • Grow Your Own - It’s easy to set up a windowbox to grow your own herbs or veg, even if you just grow one thing, it makes a difference. If you eat a lot of tomatos, grow tomatos, same with cucumbers and onions. They will probably taste much better and a pack of seed only costs about £1 and will go a lot further than that portion of cucumber you paid £1.40 for. Think logically!! It’s easy to get hold of seeds, Amazon even sell seeds for about 35p a packet!! So get growing!

I could go on and on and on about how simple it is to be green and kind to the environment, but i think, really, you already know how simple it is. It’s just a case of fitting it into your schedule. Nobody is ever to busy to recycle, that’s just a saying lazy people use, or people who are afraid to change. But just remember, experts have just announced that climate change is worse than they ever thought it would or could be. The ice caps are melting faster than anybody ever thought they were, the ice is thinning, the sea levels rising, the earth is heating up. We are killing our planet, not slowly, but quickly and the sad thing is, there are so many people who do not care. Our children will probably never know the beauty of the ice caps, the joy of snow, the incredible site of polar bears, penguins, tigers or eagles. We are selfish, and we are damning with our sentence to the planet. You may not think what you do makes a difference, but that is the exact attitude that the world cannot afford to have. If you take anything away from this message today, let it be this:

Reduce!
Reuse!
Recycle!

What ever you can manage will help this planet in ways you cannot imagine, set a good example and pave the way for those who look up to!

I forgot to mention that i managed to blag a part in a short film of a friends. The film is being filmed as his final year project and i am extremley nervous but excited about being a part. I only have two lines, but it’s experience and gives the go i need. It will also give me a taste of what it is like to be on a set and under the instruction of others. Hopefully the experience will give me even more motivation to get going.

I also applied for an audition to be a part of The Looking Glass Wars movie. Based on the best selling book by Frank Beddor, the story narrates the life of Alyss Heart, and is meant to be the true story behind Alice In Wonderland. It’s a wonderful and beautiful read, if you haven’t read it already i suggest you do so ;)
Fingers crossed for that audition, i probably won’t hear anything for a long time as they haven’t finalised the script yet. But i can hope.
Friday will be the day i apply to a few casting agencies after i’ve had some photos taken. They’re not professional in the sense that i paid upwards of £150, but they will be retouched and photographed well i hope. When things start flowing nicely i will pay the money for proper professional headshots. Does anyone know of any good portrait photographers in South Wales?
Take care and happy blogging!
